Turn-Back Services Related to Peaking Supplies, NFM provides turn-back services for utilities and end-users when the weather is warmer than predicted or unplanned outages occur. NFM will receive the gas at the specific delivery point at a predetermined price, allowing the purchaser to avoid the hassle and price swings of reselling supply when it is difficult to find a market for extra gas. NFM has storage positions that allow it to perform during peak days. Example:A Colorado Utility wants to make sure they can shed extra gas when they don’t need it. This utility enters into an agreement with NFM. On any given day throughout the term of the agreement, the utility shall have the right to turn back extra gas at a predetermined price (fixed price or an index price).
